What is the vacuum pump
Fore vacuum pumps are defined as those which exhaust atmospheric pressure. They can be used alone or teamed with other primary and secondary devices (pumps) for use before the start of a task, after finishing it, or during its execution. They are also required to support secondary pumps or attain the initial condition for their operation. There are two types:

Working of multistage vacuum pump
The multistage vacuum pump is the simplest form of root pump which incorporates two counter-rotating interconnected ‘lobed’ rotor units twirling inside a stator housing or casing. During the operation, gas enters the machine through an inlet flange that is positioned at a perpendicular angle to the rotating unit and the air is then unleashed on an array of rapidly rotating rotors and stator. The powerful centrifugal force applied to the compressed gas that spins in opposite directions, after the spin process, the compressed gas is then expelled through the exhaust port.
Following the same designing trait as a simple and successful roots vacuum pump, the multi-stage pump on the other hand employs a more enhanced mechanism and consists of many sets of rotors (on a shared shaft), all operating at different speeds to create progressively higher pressure from the lower stages upwards. The geometry of each rotor creates compression which then turns into an increased amount as it’s worked way up through eight or more stages! Meaning that any product from one stage becomes feed for another higher level without being interconnected through any valves.
As compared with single-stage vacuum pumps, the new generation multistage root pumps have been specifically designed in a way that doesn’t come into contact with rotor and stator housing. Moreover, they are formulated to be used in quiet and clean environments, such as in analytical instruments and research laboratories. The rotors and stator are hermetically sealed rotors, implying the units are robust enough to use for longer periods between service with zero contact between them. Furthermore, this design also prevents dirt from entering or leaving during operation.
