Roots Vacuum Pump

A Roots vacuum pump is a rotary volumetric vacuum pump that was developed in Germany during World War II. It has evolved from the blower design, with its structure and working functions being similar to those of the Roots Blowers. This type of vacuuming system is mostly used where large pumping speeds are required within pressure ranges between 10-1000Pa so it’s been widely popularized by metallurgists as well as other various industries throughout Europe.

Classification of root vacuum pump

The root vacuum pump is basically divided into three categories 

• Low vacuum having direct air exhaust, 
• Medium vacuum ( also known as a booster pump and 
• High vacuum root vacuum pump. 

The largest number of domestic vacuum pumps that have been employed for various uses are the roots vacuum pump. This model is equipped with two rotors that rotate synchronously in opposite directions. There are small clearances between every part but they work without contact and are able to suck up almost all matter. With a perfect balance between rotors, it creates an intense suction by pulling everything into its core at once then spit out with force when needed. Besides, the design has good symmetry which enables them to operate quietly and produce minimal vibration. Also, the model doesn’t require an oil seal and lubrication in the pump chamber which further helps in the amount of friction.
